Mawbs

This is an image taken by Robert Mapplethorpe, an artist whose work we viewed in class. I found this image particularly striking amongst the many photographs taken of flowers. The colors are vibrant and attract the eye uniquely to the flower in the lower right hand quadrant. The position of the flower as it flows from the mid to upper left hand corner down and across the photograph (ending at the bottom right hand corner) demonstrates an effortless cascade by the flower, and makes it appear as if it is actually within reach.
