This photograph by Ansel Adams really caught by attention amongst his many other magnificent works. The image seems to be divided into horizontal thirds, with the paved road commanding the attention of the lower third of the image, the dark horizon centering the photograph, and finally the clouds peering out from above at the top of the image. Though the photo is in black and white, Adams does a wonderful job of truly mastering the natural essence of the scene. The bright lines dividing the pavement attract the eye from the bottom of the photograph all the way to the bright clouds at the very top. It is beautifully captured, and shows a great sense of depth.
