This is a picture taken by John Vink, a photographer who places a lot of emphasis on trying to capture social issues. This photo is of a young girl who is a Honduran refugee. I was intrigued by this picture because it has an interesting balance to it, with most of the picture being on the left side of the photo. Also, I found it interesting that the photographer chose to photograph the child through the netting, which to me seemed to symbolize the separation between the girl and the photographer. While this is a sad photo, the girls face does not seem like it is in complete despair, instead it seems to reflect some sort of hope.
