iza

I took this photo of my roommate while waiting at the bus stop. I do not think that it is advanced or anything—this perspective has certainly been done before—but I do think that it captures something honest. The graffiti and texture of the road give off an undeniably city setting, Rome in particular. Also, while it seems like the photograph is just of Catherine (the girl in the foreground), the leading lines of the narrowing sidewalk make the eyes move to the group in background of the image (located top right). Which, consequently, the woman in the middle-ground is looking towards. I just wanted to play with the question of who the subject really is in a photograph and what happens when there may be more than one.
