This photo struck me in a sad but beautiful way. I feel like it captures a powerful transition in life, especially for women. The aging skin and deeper shadows and contrast of her face; her blank but pensive expression seems to be calmly smoothing over a dying youth inside. Transition to me is also a symbol of reflection, which is occurring as well in this photo.
