This is a photo from Florence this weekend of a huge flock of birds. While walking though the streets we noticed probably hundreds of birds all in the same location. And, when one would be spooked, the whole rest of them would fly away too. I think it is important in photography to remember that while sometimes it is very valuable to set up a photograph, pondering options for settings and angles and colors and subject, at other times it is more important to just catch a moment. In addition to creating a frozen memory, photography captures them; you just have to be ready.
