This image was taken from www.graphicmania.net, and follows some key photographic elements. First, the image looks to be following the "rule of thirds", which is evidenced by the fact that if the image was divided into thirds lengthwise and widthwise, there would be a key part of the photograph taking place in the intersection of those "thirds". In this photograph, the beginning of the cascade begins in the upper left (at one intersection), and concludes in the mid to upper right corner of the image (in another intersection of thirds). This image follows correct proportions, and appears to have an elliptical frame, for if you draw diagonal lines from the upper and lower left hand corners of the frame, the two lines would intersect at the end of the canyon range, making this a beautifully depicted image.
A light meter is an object used in photography to best gauge and detect the appropriate amount of light available and necessary to produce the best photograph. Often light meters sense the available light in a given environment to provide the photographer with key diaphram and speed dimensions for the lighted area.
